چکیده

This study is undertaken to compare some different flood routing models including wave models and numerical models in the real field. The results of the wave models included kinematic, diffusive and dynamic wave have already been compared using laboratory data. Lack of the data field and technical support has been causes of not be investigated in the real field. In this present paper, several numerical solutions for basic equations has been developed by using Visual Basic and computer codes have been provided for them. To verify applicability of developed models in the field, Maroon River observed data including hydrologic, hydraulic and geometric data’s have been gathering from Khuzestan Sources of Water Management (SWM), Iran. The develop software in this research program has been run for the selected river. In the next step, to find out the accuracy models, outputs have been comparing together. Finally, it is showing that the method of characteristics is more accurate than other models and it’s calculation accuracy is acceptable.

Adaptive Neural Networks for Flood Routing in River Systems

A methodology based on adaptive ANN models is proposed for flood routing in river systems. The proposed methodology is capable of modeling both converging and diverging river networks. A Multilayer Perceptron Network (MLP), a Recurrent Neural Network (RNN), a Time Delay Neural Network (TDNN) and a Time Delay Recurrent Neural Network (TDRNN) are applied in this study. An Adaptive training proced...

A case study of flood dynamic wave simulation in natural waterways using numerical solution of unsteady flows

Flood routing has many applications in engineering projects and helps designers in understanding the flood flow characteristics in river flows. Floods are taken unsteady flows that vary by time and location. Equations governing unsteady flows in waterways are continuity and momentum equations which in case of one-dimensional flow the Saint-Venant hypothesis is considered. Dynamic wave model as ...

Optimization of runoff Coefficient and Concentration Time in Estimating Flood Discharge Values by SCS Method (Case Study: Catchment Basin of Kohanrood River)

Estimation of floods in a basin with various return periods is one of the effective management strategies for reducing flood damage. One of the methods for estimating flood discharge is to make synthetic unit hydrograph using the physical characteristics of the basin. The more accurate inputs of the model, the more validated results. Hence, in basins in which Instantaneous peak discharge is rec...
